About Juicy Couture

For Nice Girls Who Like Stuff
Two highland terriers holding a shield bearing three hearts and Love G&P, with a crown lying overhead, and a banner fluttering above the slogan, “Born in the Glamorous USA” - if it looks familiar, it’s because it is the signature logo that belongs to one of the major labels of fashionable clothing and accessories – Juicy Couture.
Founded as Travis Jeans in 1995 and selling only maternity pants, Juicy Couture was tailored cut right the following year to accommodate other line of merchandise for a somewhat girly apparel collection starting from jeans to tracksuits and eventually evolved to include apparels for men and children. Gradually, more were added to the Juicy line, offering a wider range of selection of items, from bathing suits and accessories for women to perfumes, socks, handbags, toiletries, diaper bags and even dog accessories.
The founders, Gela Nash-Taylor and Pamela Skaist-Levy started without much finances to gain recognition in the fashion world. Somehow they had set their goal to develop a brand that can come in par with other major labels but which would be more affordable to the general public. The lack of resources had pushed the two wise entrepreneurs to send their designs to celebrities. So back in 1996, with Madonna being seen wearing their velour tracksuit, Juicy Couture became an instant hit. Today, their tracksuits, which consists of a zip-up hoodie and low riding drawstring pants, are offered in various colors, and made of velour, terry cloth, fleece, or cashmere.
Still there was limited distribution of the brand as only few shops were selling it. FY 2000 was a much awaited break when the company shipped to more exclusive boutiques and flagship stores. Then Juicy Couture became a bigger hit in 2004 when the tracksuit once again became a trend. 2006 was the birth-year for a new line called “Couture Couture”, a reflection of the new lifestyle of Gela and Pamela, and sold at high ended shops. It was followed by the introduction of loungewear and sleepwear by Choose Sleep by Juicy Couture Intimate Apparels in 2008. That same year, “Extra Juicy”, a plus-size line was also added to the Juicy Collection. By 2009, the men’s line production ceased and what remains is only Dirty English, a fragrance and shave lotion.
Currently, the Headquarters of Juicy Couture is in Arleta, (Los Angeles), California and they are now sold in department stores like Bloomingdale's, Gus Mayer, Lord & Taylor, Bergdorf Goodman, Nordstrom, Neiman Marcus, and Saks Fifth Avenue.
Juicy Couture, through it's history, has been famous for various slogans connected with their products.
