Knife Hardness, Sharpness, and What
it all Means

Knives are designed to cut 4
types of materials: vegetables, fiber rope and cloth, animal flesh
and hide, and wood. Sometimes knives are expected to do alot more
than just cut these basic materials. People will use their knives to
dig holes, cut rocks, cut metal and pop metal cans. These are all
well and good but knives that are designed to CUT sharply will not
strong, and knives designed to be strong will normally not be sharp.
So the key is finding a balance between these two extremes and using
the knife that is best suited for your purpose.
